Leak Detection Coordinator-Forsyth County Water Department.
Non-exempt salary $15.58/hr. Conducts surveys of the County’s water distribution system and water collection system to identify anomalies and potential problems involving leaks, inflow, infiltration, overflow, illegal discharge, etc.; conducts tests of distribution system to locate leaks. Installs flow meters on water lines and sewer lines; analyzes and interprets flow data from water system and sewer system. Constructs computer models of water system. Supervises activities of contractors engaged to repair leaks; monitors and inspects work to ensure compliance with County work specifications. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or GED; supplemented by college level course work or vocational training in civil engineering, sewer collection systems, and waste treatment; supplemented by 3 years previous experience and/or training that includes civil engineering, sewer collection and distribution systems, water/sewer flow meter installation, leak detection in a municipal water system; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. Must possess and maintain valid Water Distribution System Operator certification and Wastewater Collection System Operator certification. Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver’s license.
