Cornelia Water Treatment Operator

The City of Cornelia has an immediate opening for a Water Treatment Operator. Candidates should be dependable and conscientious with the ability to work well independently with minimal supervision. Must be physically able to lift and/or carry 50lbs or more on a frequent basis, walk up and down stairs, and be able to wear a respirator or SCBA. Must possess a current State of Georgia Water Plant Operator License. Must have a valid Georgia driver's license. Must have the ability to work day or night shifts, weekends, and holidays. Duties will include: Operation and maintenance of equipment, such as pumps, motors, and chemical feed systems. Collection of samples and monitoring/analysis of lab test and recording results. Replacement of chlorine cylinders and regulation of chlorine flow. Conducting daily meter readings. Ability to work unsupervised and make decisions. Other tasks as assigned.
