The City of Cornelia, Georgia, a beautiful gateway city to the Northeast Georgia mountains, seeks a proven professional to lead and oversee the activities and operations of a full service public works department including: Water Plant, Waste Water Treatment Plant, City Water/Sewer Infrastructure, Road Maintenance, Special Projects and Fleet Maintenance.
The ideal candidate must have proven effective leadership and administrative abilities and possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills. The position also requires through knowledge and experience in public works or a related field in addition to skills such as strategic planning and budget preparation. This position reports to the City Manager.
Two to Five years of progressively responsible public works or related experience is required. Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is desired but applicants with five to ten years experience will be strongly considered. Planning, personnel supervision and field involvement is expected.
