GIS Technician-Forsyth County Water & Sewer Dept. Non-Exempt Salary $14.47/Hr. Operates and maintains the County/City GIS base maps, parcels, ownership, roads, subdivisions, rights-of-way, zoning, and tax digest corrections; updates data in GIS database; enters mapping parcel data from deeds, plats, plots, surveys, or other sources into GIS system. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: HS diploma or GED; supplemented by vocational/technical training in cartography, computerized mapping, or a related field; supplemented by 1 year previous experience and/or training involving geographical information system operations, cartography, and computerized mapping; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
