Introduction to ArcGIS I & II Classes in May

Keck & Wood, Inc. has scheduled Introduction to ArcGIS I & II Classes to
be held in May. The Introduction to ArcGIS I class will is scheduled for
May 19-20. The Introduction to ArcGIS II class is scheduled for May
23-25. The classes will be held at Keck & Wood's Corporate Office in
Duluth, Georgia, behind Gwinnett Place Mall.

General Overview of Classes:
These classes introduce participants to ArcGIS(tm) and provide the
foundation for becoming a successful user. Participants learn how to use
ArcMap(tm), ArcCatalog(tm), and ArcToolbox(tm) and explore how these
applications work together to provide a complete GIS software solution.

The Introduction to ArcGIS I course is a 2 day class designed for anyone
new to ArcGIS software (ArcView, ArcEditor or ArcInfo), new to GIS or
upgrading from ArcView 3.X or ArcInfo 7.X. This class covers fundamental
GIS concepts as well as how to create, edit, and work with georeferenced
spatial data. Participants learn how to manipulate tabular data, query a
GIS database, and present data clearly and efficiently using maps and
charts.

The Introduction to ArcGIS II course is a 3 day class that continues to
build on the skills learned during the Introduction to ArcGIS I and
teaches students about some of the more advanced functions found within
the ArcGIS software suite such as spatial and attribute validation,
labeling and annotation, Geoprocessing, and spatial analysis. Those
attending classes will receive lecture and exercise manuals, a CD-ROM
containing all data used in the class exercises, and a certificate of
completion.

Target Audience:
This course is for those who are new to ArcGIS/ArcView software,
migrating from ArcView GIS 3.x to ArcView 9.x or new to geographic
information systems (GIS) in general and wanting to learn more.

Prerequisites and recommendations:
Participants should know how to use Microsoft Windows and have some
basic understanding of databases or spreadsheets.

Cost:
The cost for the Introduction to ArcGIS I class will be $750.00 per
student. The cost for the Introduction to ArcGIS II class will be
$1,175.00. We are offering a bundled deal of $1,875.00 for those that
register for both classes. Additional discounts are available for
groups. Payment or purchase order must be received prior to the start of
class.

About the Instructor:
The class will be taught by Tripp Corbin, an ESRI Authorized Instructor
and a GIS Certified Professional. Tripp has over 16 years of GIS,
Mapping and surveying experience. He has used many of the most common
GIS and mapping software packages including ArcGIS, ArcView GIS,
ArcInfo, ArcIMS, AutoCAD, Autodesk Map, MapGuide, and Microstation.
