CHIEF, WATER & WASTEWATER PLANT OPERATIONS

The City of Montezuma, Georgia , a beautiful central Georgia town, is accepting applications for the position of Chief, Water & Wastewater Plant Operations. The Chief is responsible for operating 2 Wastewater Treatment Plants and 2 Water Treatment Plants and controls a budget of approximately $ 1 million. Montezuma is a progressive community of 4,500 with a Mayor-Council form of government. It is located on the Andersonville Trail 21 miles from Interstate 75, within easy driving distance of Atlanta, the mountains of North Georgia or the beach areas.

QUALIFICATIONS: Five years of experience relating to the construction, repair and maintenance of wastewater and water treatment systems including the operation of related maintenance equipment, or any equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have a Minimum Georgia Class I certification in Wastewater Treatment and Minimum Class II Water Treatment Certification. Also, state certification as a Lab Analyst is a plus. Extensive knowledge in Industrial Sequencing Batch Reactor Systems is desirable. Considerable knowledge of activated sludge and extended aeration is necessary. Reports to the Mayor and is an integral member of the City's management team. A team orientation is a must.

SALARY/BENEFITS: Starting salary is negotiable from $45,000 - $54,484 annually. Excellent benefits include: paid health, life, and dental insurance; paid retirement; paid sick, vacation and holiday leave; uniforms and upon relocation to Macon County, a take home vehicle.

WATER DISTRIBUTION AND WASTEWATER COLLECTION SUPERINTENDENT

The City of Barnesville Water & Sewer Department is accepting applications for a Water Distribution and Wastewater Collection Superintendent. Responsible management position involving the daily operations of the municipal water distribution and sewer collection system, including the operation and maintenance of sewer lift stations. The Superintendent directs day to day operations relative to the installation, maintenance and upgrade of the water/sewer system. Advises the City Manager on technical engineering decisions and capital projects. High school diploma or GED required. Minimum Class III state certification required. UTILITY BILLING/ACCOUNTANT

The City of Barnesville is accepting resumes for Utility Billing/Accountant. Responsible for operating a computerized multi-utility billing system which interfaces with the city accounting system. Posts, monitors and reconciles utility accounts and verifies accuracy of all billing transactions. Prepares spreadsheets, reports and maintains records of all billing activities. Assists city treasurer in the preparation and satisfaction of the external/internal audit requirements. Works with customers concerning utility billing and services. Assists customer service clerks with billing and service matters. Qualifications include a college degree in accounting or closely related field and a minimum of 2 years experience in fund accounting. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. Knowledge and ability to practically apply accounting theories, principles and practices.
