Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator

Mayfield Dairy Farms has a career opportunity for a Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator for a 100,000 gallon / day pre-treatment facility at our Braselton, GA fluid milk processing plant. Qualified candidates must have a Class III Wastewater License or higher. We prefer candidates who have a background in activated sludge, SBR and DAF waste treatment systems. Candidates must have a HS diploma or GED and be 18 years of age or older. We offer excellent pay and benefits. New employees will be eligible for all company benefits on the first day of the month following 2 complete months of service. Brief Position Description:
Operates the wastewater treatment plant on a daily basis, monitoring all equipment and performing chemical analysis as necessary to assure the effluent released from the plant is clean, environmentally safe and within discharge permitted allowances.

Minimum Qualifications:
Six months as WRF Operator Class III
Valid Class C Driver’s License and a satisfactory MVR

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities of
Plant Operations and effects of weather conditions on the treatment of wastewater
Federal, state, and local rules and regulations regarding the discharge of wastewater effluent into local streams and lakes
Activated sludge and biological treatment of water
Operating procedures and repair of equipment including presses, aeration basins
Safe procedures and techniques in handling dangerous chemicals
Ability to perform chemical analysis tests and interpret results
Ability to lift up to fifty (50) pounds
Ability to climb up to forty (40) stairs

Wastewater Treatment and Collection System Operator

The City of Hoschton, GA is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Wastewater Treatment and Collection System Operator. This position is responsible for the operation and general maintenance of equipment at our new .5 MGD wastewater treatment plant as well as its associated collection system. Primary focus will be in process control and ensuring the City's complete compliance with its NPDES Discharge Permit as well as all operating requirements of GAEPD. Minimum qualifications include:

• Georgia Class II or higher certification in Wastewater Treatment Plant Operations
• HS diploma or GED
• Knowledge of Georgia lab testing procedures and belt filter press operation
• Minimum one year professional experience in the operation and maintenance of a wastewater treatment facility
• Ability to coordinate with regulatory officials, City support staff, and City public works staff
• Successful drug screen and criminal background review
• Valid GA driver's license
• Applicants possessing or qualifying for a GA Water Distribution System Operator’s License will be given special consideration.

This position demands a strong desire to participate on our City's management team and a dedication to providing continuous customer service. Work hours outside the normal working day may be occasionally required.
