Wastewater Treatment and Collection System Operator

The City of Hoschton, GA is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Wastewater Treatment and Collection System Operator. This position is responsible for the operation and general maintenance of equipment at our new .5 MGD wastewater treatment plant as well as its associated collection system. Primary focus will be in process control and ensuring the City's complete compliance with its NPDES Discharge Permit as well as all operating requirements of GAEPD. Minimum qualifications include:

• Georgia Class II or higher certification in Wastewater Treatment Plant Operations
• HS diploma or GED
• Knowledge of Georgia lab testing procedures and belt filter press operation
• Minimum one year professional experience in the operation and maintenance of a wastewater treatment facility
• Ability to coordinate with regulatory officials, City support staff, and City public works staff
• Successful drug screen and criminal background review
• Valid GA driver's license
• Applicants possessing or qualifying for a GA Water Distribution System Operator’s License will be given special consideration.

This position demands a strong desire to participate on our City's management team and a dedication to providing continuous customer service. Work hours outside the normal working day may be occasionally required.

Salary range is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
