Water Plant Operations Manager


The Sinclair Water Authority is seeking qualified candidates for the position of
WATER PLANT OPERATIONS MANAGER.

Successful candidate will direct the operations for treatment, storage and distribution of water to Baldwin and Putnam Counties for the Sinclair Water Authority.

Qualified candidates must have knowledge of water plants and process control technology. Knowledge of state, federal and EPA regulations. Proven ability to select, train and supervise staff. Proficiency in computer technology, strong mathematical aptitude, knowledge of business and financial management and solid communication skills. College degree or equivalent work experience required. Possession of or ability to readily obtain state certified license for the operation of the water plant as appropriate.

Cross Connection Specialist Full Time

Job Description: The Cross Connection Specialist is responsible for protecting the public water supply from actual or potential contamination sources by ensuring appropriate backflow prevention devices are properly in use by residential, commercial, and industrial customers.

Essential Functions

- Communicates to Cross Connection Specialist any follow-up or enforcement letters needed to maintain program integrity.
- Performs field inspections of residential, commercial, and industrial accounts to identify actual or potential cross connections; assess degree of cross connection hazard; and follows up with customer in writing of required backflow prevention device/assembly.
- Will need to immediately terminate customer’s service if High Degree of Hazard is found without sufficient backflow prevention device/assembly with direction from the Cross Connection Specialist.
- Will disconnect service upon failure of the property owner to comply with the requirements of the company’s Cross Connection Program. A specific procedure is followed of notifying the customer prior to disconnection unless a high hazard is found.
- Responds to emergency situations as necessary.
- Provides assistance to customers with questions regarding the Cross Connection Program.
- Ensures all connections are in compliance with the company’s Cross Connection Programs.

Additional Responsibilities - Ability to organize and prioritize work to meet schedule.
- Schedules work based on priority.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

Computer Skills Preferred: Word and Excel.
Other Skills Excellent verbal/written communication skills to customers and staff.
Must be self-motivated.
Education Required: High School Diploma or equivalent.
Certifications/Licenses Required: Valid drivers license
Preferred: State Certified Backflow Prevention & Water Licenses
Experience Preferred: 1-3 years of experience in water/wastewater utility business or related field.

Brief Position Description:
Locates and marks buried water and sewer lines. Flush water lines and performs minor repairs.

Minimum Qualifications:
Ability to read and write
Minimum of 12 months prior experience as a Construction Utility Technician
Any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the minimum level of qualifications stated above
Valid Class C Driver’s License and a satisfactory MVR
Georgia Department of Transportation certified flagger

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of the Authority water and sewer system to include system lines and their locations
Knowledge of the use of valve and pipeline locating equipment such as M-Scope or Metro-tech
Knowledge of City and County road system
Ability to repair water meter leaks

EFFLUENT PUMP AND (2) MOTORS FOR SALE


The City of Covington is offering for sale a split case centrifugal pump used to pump treated effluent from its wastewater treatment plant to a Land Application System storage pond. The pump also comes with (2) rebuilt electric motors. The pump and motors have not been used in a number of years but have been stored inside.

Water Treatment Operator

The City of Summerville is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Water Treatment Operator at our water treatment facilities. This is a full time position. This position requires a High School Diploma or GED, a valid Class 111 or above Water Treatment Plant Operators License. Motivated individuals not presently certified may be considered for a trainee position provided a high level of potential is displayed. You must have a valid driver’s license and be at least 18 years of age. An employee in this position is expected to have good work habits, be honest, dependable, take pride in their work and have a good work history. This individual must be able to work without direct supervision. Applicant must be able to work any shift, weekend and holidays as needed. An employee in this position must be in good health and in excellent physical condition; drug screening and background check will be required.
