The primary function of the water/wastewater specialist is to operate, maintain, and repair both the City’s water system and the City’s sanitary system; and to insure an adequate and safe public water supply, while preventing health hazards and degradation of water quality from the sanitary sewer system. Some job duties to include reading meters, repairing leaks, water sampling, installing and repairing hydrants, inspecting back flow prevention devices, and installing new water and sewer lines. The Director is responsible for directing the daily operations of the Public Services Department. Work involves planning, prioritizing and supervising the activities of Water and Wastewater, Streets, Solid Waste, and Storm water Divisions.
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering Technology, or related technical field.
Applicant must possess eight years related work experience with three years supervisory experience. Preferred applicant will have substantial experience in water and wastewater with local government. A Class II Water License and Class II Wastewater License preferred.
