Water/Wastewater Specialist
The City of Port Wentworth is currently taking applications for water/wastewater specialist. The primary function of the water/wastewater specialist is to operate, maintain, and repair both the City’s water system and the City’s sanitary system; and to insure an adequate and safe public water supply, while preventing health hazards and degradation of water quality from the sanitary sewer system. Some job duties to include reading meters, repairing leaks, water sampling, installing and repairing hydrants, inspecting back flow prevention devices, and installing new water and sewer lines. Applicant must have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED), two (2) years water and wastewater operation in a municipal environment, ability to obtain Class II Water/Wastewater Operators License and Back flow Prevention Certification.
