W.U.M. is a private company in Savannah, GA that owns and operates water and wastewater systems from Statesboro to Waycross, serving over 9,000 homes.
Company has attractive pay, with bonuses, health insurance, and a 401k and profit-sharing plan. Engineer will have an office, a work vehicle, and a robust budget to purchase whatever hardware, software, and materials he/she would require.
Duties include:
-designing water and wastewater systems and producing plans
-reviewing plans and making recommendations for change
-drawing as-built plans
-organizing engineering requirements and submitting them to Georgia EPD
-maintaining oversight on compliance programs with the GA EPD reviewing reports generated by office staff
-responding to correspondence with the GA EPD and keeping management abreast of any compliance issues.
-recommending design changes/improvements to existing systems
-researching new technologies
-inspecting construction sites to ensure construction is in accordance with plans and specs.
