Meters for Sale: The City of Ball Ground recently completed a 100% meter change out and conversation to radio read. As a result we have approximately 750 meters ranging in age from 2 years to 12 years. Each of these meters was working upon removal in October. Will sell for $10.00 per meter or $8.00 per meter if you take the entire lot.

Itron Radio Transmitters for Sale: The City of Ball Ground has approximately 200 Itron Radio Transmitters with accompanying mounting hardware that has been declared surplus. This equipment is new, never used, and in the original shipping boxes. $50.00 per transmitter.

Responsibilities:
Woodard & Curran is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Mechanic in Dallas, GA. Applicant is responsible for repairing and maintaining machinery and mechanical equipment such as engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines and equipment at a wastewater treatment facility, while complying with all company Health and Safety procedures and policies. Specific duties include troubleshooting mechanical devices by listening to their sounds or monitoring equipment temperature to diagnose causes of trouble. Must be able to dismantle devices to gain access to and remove defective parts; to examine form and texture of parts to detect imperfections; and to set up and operate drill press, grinder, and other metal working tools to make and repair parts. Must be able to work days, nights, weekends and holidays, as required for emergency call outs.
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum five years of professional experience, including one year in the maintenance of water or wastewater treatment facilities
• Must demonstrate a basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, construction, excavating, and hydraulics
• Basic computer skills are desirable, including knowledge of maintenance software
• Must demonstrate basic customer service skills, and an ability to prioritize and manage his/her own time.
• Ability to work inside and outside in adverse weather conditions
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate well with clients, management, staff, and the general public
• Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds on a regular basis
• Must possess a valid Georgia driver's license, and have a safe driving record
• Applicants that have a valid water or wastewater operator license are preferred

Review planning for development sites & construction projects. Assists in compliance with NPDES, including water quality improvement & protection, TMDL implementation, use & protection of receiving water bodies, & pollution prevention. Work involves explaining codes & corrective requirements to developers, contractors, property owners, & the general public.
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Surveying, Environmental Planning or closely related field; with six years of experience in construction, engineering, surveying, & related trades work involving supervisory responsibility. Environmental Waste Water Manager

Primary Function:

The Environmental / Wastewater Manager oversees the day to day operations for two wastewater treatment facilities and one drinking water system. The manager also handles all environmental correspondence between the four North Georgia Wayne Farms LLC locations and local/state government agencies and produces all required regulatory reports.

Responsibilities and Tasks:

1. Effectively coaches and leads a team of 6-8 wastewater professionals.
2. Consults with internal leaders and customers as well as external regulatory agencies and community entities.
3. Ensures compliance with all lawful regulations, testing and reporting requirements including wastewater, storm water, SPCC, air emissions, handling and disposal of hazardous materials and solid waste.
4. Manages wastewater treatment and water supply systems through monitoring and reporting (activity in lagoons, pre-treatment screening, DAF, SBR biological system, LAS spray fields, monitoring wells, supply wells, pumps and distribution system, storage tank, and filter system).
5. Responsible for understanding actions associated with environmental crisis response. Coordinates with Corporate Environmental Manager on protocol/reporting requirements prior to crisis. Acts as on-site consultant to facility crisis captain at time of environmental crisis. Responsible for implementing the Wayne Farms Crisis Action Plan for all facility environmental matters.
6. Acts as local resource on current codes and regulations related to wastewater and drinking water, pollution control, industry regulations and water systems.
7. Coordinates with Corporate Environmental Manager and Regulatory agencies on continual permit compliance.
8. Oversees and manages wastewater full-treatment and/or pre-treatment systems, storm water system, tank systems including secondary containment and collected water release, and air emissions control systems including bag house, cyclones and scrubbers.

Minimum Skill Levels and Work Experience:

1. Minimum of 3 years experience in wastewater / environmental management.
2. Intermediate computer skills (Microsoft Office).
3. Basic math and statistic knowledge
4. Valid drivers license

Minimum skill levels for this position may be met through a combination of education, State of Georgia Wastewater / Water licenses Visual Emission Certification, and experience in the environmental/wastewater industry. Each candidate will be reviewed individual.

Preferred Skill Levels and Work Experience:

1. State of Georgia Class I Wastewater License
2. State of Georgia Class III Water System License
3. State of Georgia Visual Emission Certificate
4. Bachelor Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or similar.
5. Advanced computer skills.
6. Experience managing water/wastewater in a food production environment.
