Wastewater Operator Jackson County Ga

Wastewater Operator – The Jackson County Water & Sewerage Authority (JCWSA) is seeking a Wastewater Treatment Operator. Successful candidate will perform skilled and technical work in the operation of the wastewater treatment plant. Candidate will also assist Collection System Technician in the daily operation of the JCWSA lift stations and collection system. Applicants must be physically able to perform job duties including heavy lifting and the ability to complete preventative maintenance tasks.

Successful candidate should possess a HS diploma, supplemented by current certification as a Wastewater Treatment Plant operator as issued by the Georgia State Board of Examiners. Related training and experience may substitute for current certification; however, certification must be obtained within 18 months of employment.

Successful candidate must possess a valid Georgia driver’s license with clean driving record. Candidate will be required to pass a drug screen and criminal background check.

Water Sewer Tech III

The City of Tybee Island is now accepting applications for the position of Water/Sewer Technician III. Knowledge and experience in the operation and maintenance of water and sewer pumping and treatment equipment and facilities is preferred. Work involves participation in the safe and efficient operation, routine servicing and care of a variety of specialized equipment in the municipal water and sewer treatment facilities. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Water/Sewer Superintendent and is reviewed through the inspection of schedules, records, equipment, facilities, and job performance.

Applicant must be State Certified as a Water Operator Class III or Water Distribution and have a valid Georgia driver’s license.

WATER/SEWER LINE MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN

The City of Perry is accepting applications for the position of Water/Sewer Line Maintenance Technician.

Summary of Position
This position is responsible for operating equipment, participating and planning the installation, repair, and maintenance of water and sewer lines and mains.

Examples of Tasks
Participates in the installation, repair and maintenance of water and sewer lines and mains.
Gathers material and supplies used in daily activities and maintains records of material used.
Locates water and sewer lines for crews and other utility companies.
Installs and repairs sewer and water line taps.
Repairs utility cuts including accurate calculation of necessary repair material.
Repairs cut or damaged water and sewer lines.
Locates leaks in water lines and blockages in sewer lines.
Installs, repairs, and maintains fire hydrants.
Responds to emergency service calls as required.
Performs preventative maintenance on equipment.
Performs ground maintenance duties as needed.
Performs repairs on water meters.
Performs after hours on-call duties.
Installs water and sewer mains.

Knowledge and Skill Required
Knowledge of State and Federal guidelines relating to the operation of water distribution and sanitary collection systems.
Skill in pipe installation to include bedding and cover procedures.
Skill and use of such tools as wrenches, pumps, metal detector, line locator, laser, transit, and levels.
Skill in construction, maintenance, and repair of water and sewer lines and mains, and recognizing component accessories of each.
Skill in performing standard mathematical calculations.
Skill in oral and written communications.
Skill in supervision

Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Ability to speak, read and write basic English, and perform basic mathematical calculations at a level commonly associated with the tasks assigned.
Possession of a current valid Commercial Driver’s License.
Possession of or ability to obtain an appropriate State Certified License for Water distribution or Sanitary Collection.
Applicant will be required to submit to drug screening.
Pay Ranges: W/S Line Maintenance Technician III: $24,300 - $33,600
W/S Line Maintenance Technician II: $27,300 - $39,100
W/S Line Maintenance Technician I: $37,500 - $45,000

The City of Cornelia has immediate opening for Class III or above for our Water plant. Candidate must have an understanding of the treatment processes and have the necessary skills to operate equipment. Candidate will conduct a variety of tests for the safe and efficient operation of the plant. Will have to perform preventative maintenance tasks. Work is performed inside and outdoors.

Applicants must be physically able to perform job duties including heavy lifting and climbing stairs. Need High School diploma or GED, valid Georgia driver's license and be able to work shift work, holidays & weekends. Salary range $12.50-16.50 depending upon license plus .50 night shift differential.
