The City of Sardis, is currently accepting
applications for a full time Water & Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator.
This position is responsible for operating the WWTP and Drinking Water Facility,
to ensure compliance with applicable local, state, and federal environmental
requirements, including performing daily rounds, assisting with equipment
repairs, water leak repairs and troubleshooting and correcting operational
problems.
Applicants should have a high school diploma or
GED, Georgia Class IV or higher in Water & Wastewater. A current Georgia
Driver's License, experience in operating heavy equipment, minimum of one year
of professional experience in the operation and maintenance of water and
wastewater treatment facilities and must be able to lift or move up to 50 pounds
on a regular basis. Georgia Class III or higher Wastewater Certification,
knowledge of computer operation and general math skills are a plus. Must be able
to work well with others and supervise other employees in the water, sewer &
street department.
