Engineer III – (Stormwater)

Salary –

$64,130.00 - $74,551.00 Annually

The Gwinnett County Department of Water Resources is a publicly-owned utility, committed to providing excellent water, wastewater and stormwater services at the best possible value to the citizens of Gwinnett County. The department is widely recognized for service excellence in the operation of 2 water production facilities, 3 water reclamation facilities and 221 pump stations. In addition, DWR maintains 3,667 miles of water lines, 2,654 miles of sewer lines and 1,325 miles of stormwater pipe. The Department of Water Resources takes pride in stewardship of the environmental resources entrusted to us and pledge to be responsible as we manage water as a limited, but renewable, resource.

This Engineer III will work with DWR's Stormwater Engineering group within the Engineering & Construction Division. The position's main responsibilities will include reviewing as-built hydrology studies and applications for stormwater variances and fee credits. Incumbent will also support staff in reviewing pipe system and culvert plans. The ideal candidate will have excellent written and oral communication skills for interfacing with consultants, contractors, developers, and internal staff members.

This position requires knowledge of:

  • Design practices associated with land development and hydrology study preparation;
  • Hydraulic and hydrology software (e.g., ACAD Civil 3D SSA, Hydrology Studio, StormCAD, HydroCAD, PCSWMM, etc.);
  • Lucity and Accela (preferred);
  • ArcGIS / MAP (preferred)

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering;
  • Two years of progressively responsible engineering experience;
  • Four years of Hydrology Study preparation experience preferred;
  • Valid Driver's License.
