This is a full time position with benefits. This position is responsible for participating in the maintenance and repair of the water distribution system. Major duties include but are not limited to: Installs water meters; Makes water main taps; Flags traffic at work sites; Operates trencher/boring machine; Operates backhoe; Repairs leaks; plumbs lines as needed; Repairs water main breaks; Maintains water meters; installs or repairs meter boxes; checks water pressure at meters; Installs and maintains fire hydrants; Operates asphalt roller, cement mixer, gas powered saw, asphalt and cement cutter, and jackhammer; Tests backflow prevention devices; repairs or replaces apparatus; Repairs concrete driveways or sidewalks; repairs streets and curbs; Removes and replaces sod; plants bushes; cuts trees and roots as needed; Maintains reservoirs; removes debris from water’ cleans boat ramps; repairs docks; Maintains equipment; replaces fuses and light bulbs; checks oil and tires; changes buckets on backhoes; Cleans restrooms; empties trash; mops restroom and shop floors; unloads trucks; Maintains inventory of tools, parts, and equipment. Requires high school diploma or GED equivalent. Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver's license with a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
