POSITION SUMMARY:
Performs a variety skilled technical in the operation, maintenance, and repair of water treatment facilities and systems. Monitors the performance of all equipment, gauges and charts in the treatment plant and pump stations; records statistical data concerning plant operations; charts lab test results for trend analysis; evaluates data and writes reports as required. Operates, maintains and repairs malfunctions at the water treatment plant; repairs gauges, pumps, filters, and other controls and equipment.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or GED equivalent; Possession of Water Treatment Certification or the ability to attain certification within one year of appointment; Possession of valid Class C state drivers license; Acceptable three year motor vehicle record; Or Any equivalent combination of education or experience.
Please provide a current, satisfactory, 3 year motor vehicle report (MVR), issued within the last 60 days.
WORK CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works in outside weather conditions. The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. The employee occasionally works in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, risk of electrical shock, and vibration. The employee is frequently exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals
