Location: Macon, Ga.
Job Content: The Macon plant has an opening for a salaried position as a wastewater Treatment Plant Technician. This person will be responsible for the proper operation and maintenance of the wastewater treatment plant based on analytical testing and operational knowledge and will also create and maintain records/reports to ensure compliance with all State and Federal regulations. Examples of job requirements are:
1. Analytic Testing: MLSS, TSS, DO, COD, pH , Ammonia Nitrogen, Nitrate Nitrogen, Phosphorus, and others as needed to ensure proper control and trouble shoot problems.
2. Daily Work Duties: Operate belt press, Operate dump truck, Maintain clarifiers, Lift 50 pounds, Problem solve upsets with basin, clarifiers etc., Communicate potential problems to the Forming Operations and Fabrication, Work with Maintenance Dept. to plan and execute both emergency and preventative maintenance needs.
3. Knowledge Requirements: Training as a Class 1 WWTP Operator or a lower class training with substantial hands on management of a WWTP.
As a member of the Environmental, Health and Safety Department, other responsibilities will include storm water testing and management, spill reaction and control measures, environmental and safety audits and other related functions.
The position is a 4 crew, rotating shift operation.
Requirements: Education/Skills: High School Diploma, Computer Skills to include Microsoft Word and Excel.
A Class I License is preferred with work experience in municipal or industrial wastewater plant operations.
