The City of Monroe is now accepting applications for the position of Water Distribution Serviceman. This position is responsible for installing, maintaining and repairing water distribution mains and lines.

Qualified applicants must:
? Possess or have the ability to readily obtain a valid driver's license issued by the State of Georgia for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.
? Possess or have the ability to readily obtain a flagging certification.
? Have sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship or having had a similar position for one or two years.

To perform in this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
? Knowledge of safety policies and procedures for the maintenance and repair of water lines and mains.
? Knowledge of procedures for making water taps.
? Skill in the repair of water lines.
? Skill in operating such equipment as trenchers, bush hogs, backhoes, tractors, front-end loaders, and air compressors.
? Skill in the use of such tools as pipe locators, leak locators, fusion tools, and various hand tools.

The City of Monroe offers a comprehensive benefit package. Salary range for this position is from $28,903.00 to $43,354.00. Applications may be obtained at City Hall, 215 N.
