Class II Wastewater Operator

The City of Loganville is seeking a full time Class II Wastewater Operator in the Water
Quality Control Department. This is a semi-skilled and skilled technical maintenance job
that involves the handling of the City's wastewater collection system. Incumbents in this
classification are fully qualified plant operators responsible for the efficient operation of
wastewater equipment. Job responsibilities include the operation, maintenacne and repair
of wastewater treatment facilities and sytems to ensure compliance with discharge
permits.

Must have knowledge of wastewater treatment facilities; The work requires intermittent
periods of sitting, standing and walking. When conducting process controls,
opeerating/repairing equipment and maintaining the water quality facility, the incumbent
is required to climb stairs and ladders, reach over equipment to make adjusstments, tum
large valves, climb into confined areas, life and push objects weighing up to 100 Ibs and
use tools requiring a high degree of dexterity. The incumbent must beable to distinguish
between shades of color, focus on both close and distant objects. High School Diploma
or GED. One (1) year experience or training in the field of wastewater treatment plant
operations; Class II Wastewater license; Must possess a valid Georgia Driver's License
(Class C) and have a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record. In addition, must possess an
acceptable Criminal Background and pass a Drug Screen.
