WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT OPERATOR

The City of Monroe is now accepting applications for the position of Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator, Class 1, 2, and 3.  This position is responsible for operating a wastewater treatment plant.

 

Qualified applicants must:  have sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/ internship or having had a similar position for one to two years;  possess an appropriate state-certified license for water or wastewater treatment or distribution; have knowledge of wastewater treatment and laboratory processes, mathematics and basic biology and chemistry, state wastewater treatment guidelines and procedures, lift station operations; have skill in reading various meters (e.g., D.O., PH, etc.), operating water pollution control equipment (such as centrifuges, spectrophotometers, vacuum pumps, and air compressors, etc.), operating laboratory equipment, maintaining accurate records; have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED); possess or have the ability to readily obtain a valid driver's license issued by the State of Georgia for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.
