The City of Metter is accepting applications for an Assistant Public Works Director. Minimum qualifications include:


  • Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with the completion of a specialized training in the occupational field, in addition to basic skills associated with a high school education.
  • Experience sufficient to thoroughly understand the diverse objectives and functions of the subunits in the division/department in order to direct and coordinate work within the division/department, usually interpreted to require three to five years of related experience.
  • Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver’s license issued by the State of Georgia for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.


Applications are available at City Hall at 49 South Rountree Street, Metter, Georgia.  Office hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00 a. m. until 5:00 p. m. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled


The pay range for this position is $39,185.97 annually to $58,778.97 annually.


All job applicants being considered for employment shall be required to pass a drug and alcohol screening test prior to being hired.
