The City of Monroe is now accepting applications for the position of Stormwater Serviceman This position is responsible for the installation, maintenance and repairing of the storm water infrastructure.

Qualified applicants must:
• Have a high school diploma or General Education Degree (GED); or equivalent combination of related training and experience.
• Have possession of a Georgia Soil and Water Conservation Level 1A Certified Personnel card, Georgia DOT approved flagging certification, Competent Person(s) certification. Possession of a valid driver’s license issued by the State of Georgia for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.
To perform in this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
• Knowledge of methods, materials, tools, and equipment used in the installation, repair and maintenance of storm water lines and related structures and facilities.
• Knowledge of safety policies and procedures for the maintenance and repair of storm water systems and mains.
• Knowledge of construction techniques and storm water maintenance methods.
• Knowledge of procedures for making storm water facilities.
• Skill in the repair of storm water facilities.
• Skill in operation and maintenance such equipment as trenchers, bush hogs, boring machines, backhoes, tractors, front-end loaders, and air compressors.
• Skill in the use of such tools as pipe locators, leak locators, fusion tools, and various hand tools.
• Ability to learn job-related material through oral instruction and observation or through structured lecture and reading. This learning takes place in either an on-the-job training setting or in a classroom setting.
• Ability to maintain a Georgia Soil and Water Conservation Level 1A Certified Personnel card and other licenses required for the assigned work activities associated with this job position.

The City of Monroe offers a comprehensive benefit package. Salary range for this position is from $29,770 to $44,655.
