Job Summary:
Helps plan, organizes and manages the daily operations and preventive and corrective maintenance of wastewater systems Veolia operates and maintains utilizing established Veolia environmental, safety, operating, and client required procedures. This position helps as requested with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) set up and daily work order completion and insures contract required compliance within established maintenance budgets and control.
Knowledge, Experience and Skills Required:
- Georgia wastewater license or willingness and ability to become licensed.
- Must be able to serve rotational 24 hour emergency on-call if required by site.

- Employee attributes to include being self-directed who can help plan and organize the daily and preventive and corrective maintenance of the Stepan wastewater plant within Veolia’s area of responsibility. Employee will work to assure compliance with environmental, safety, contract and operating procedures within their control.
- Employee to Work with other plant Operations & Maintenance (O&M) staff to insure assets are maintained to provide reliable operation, along with advising Veolia and Client management on the best methods to maintain the assets. Help with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems as requested or required.

- Strong focus to the safety and compliance of self/our team for life critical work such as lock out tag out. Ensure required training is current for maintenance activities for self and O&M crew before any tasks are performed. (i.e., does your co-worker have the required fork truck training before asked to help with task requiring operating a fork truck)
- Help lead in proper safety procedures, JSA, Positive Safety Initiatives and paper work for life critical sop’s lock out tag out and permitting.
- Remain active in Veolia computer systems; i.e., g- mail, vpn, training course, such as work place behavior and ethics, hach wims or as Veolia our customer develops new or different systems.
- Helps owner of the CMMS “web works” current maintenance management system for Veolia.
- Capable of finding and ordering of parts when needed or guide others for help of such orders, i.e. Admin/PM/fellow O&M workers.
- Collect samples and perform laboratory analysis and log into hach wims system and daily reports.
- Preferred Individual with related experience in maintaining water and wastewater equipment. Proficient using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems.
- At least one year in various positions within a water / wastewater treatment environment with knowledge of methods, principles and practices of operating, maintaining and repairing water treatment plant equipment, instrumentation and associated systems. Industrial water and waste treatment preferred.
- At least one year maintenance experience with understanding of pumps, motor, hydraulics, compressed air, electronics (VFD’s, PLC’s etc.), high speed rotational equipment and conveying equipment.
- Must demonstrate effective skills in troubleshooting, problem solving and team building.
- Ingenuity and initiative are required to coordinate problem resolution and to execute the schedule requirements within a team environment.
- Demonstrated good verbal communications and interpersonal skills in order to interface with and motivate all levels of personnel.
- Demonstrated ability to prepare accurate, timely, effective, and complete and easily understood written communications and reports.
- Proficiency in the care and use of all site specific, facility required PPE (Personal Protection Equipment).
- PC skills and knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software for preparing work related reports, charts, graphs and data submittal requirements. Ability to use computer systems for preparing work orders and purchasing requisitions. (CMMS Software)

Work Environment:
- Typically spends 90% of time in operations environment and 10% of time in office environment. May need to work outside in inclement weather conditions and drive company vehicle to perform duties.
- Possible Work Hazards: May be exposed to possible operations hazards including dust, fumes, toxic and caustic chemicals, rotating machinery, high pressure, hot or cold work temperatures, slippery surfaces, water and electrical hazards.
Physical Demands:
- Amount of time spent – Standing 25%, Sitting 25%, Walking 50%.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
- The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch and enter confined spaces. Will be required to use ladders or stairs.
- The employee must lift and/or move up to 50 pounds (occasionally 60 pounds).
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
- Requires close visual observation to detect process non-conformance and machine malfunction.
