Operator/Maintenance Technician
The Water/Wastewater Operator operates and maintains water treatment Facilities at one or more plants, processing, and testing equipment in a water treatment facility to purify water to meet permit and operational requirements. The Operator troubleshoots and diagnoses operational problems and takes corrective action per procedure and process knowledge. S/he monitors flow meters, gauges, flow ratios, pressures and related controls through instrument panels and programmable logic control units in assigned area. Monitors and records operating conditions observations and data in area shift log. Ensures conformance to process specifications; Verifies and reports suspected malfunctions and variances to supervisor; Performs routine and preventative maintenance and maintenance related items as assigned; Performs field laboratory tests (chemical and physical) in order to pace chemical dosages for efficient process control; Ensures that all safety and environmental requirements are consistently achieved including strict compliance.
Requirements:
- A dual or single licensed operator that is also proficient in maintenance/mechanical;
- Operations and maintenance duties dependent on the type of license held.
- Valid Driver’s Licenses
- Locale in the area
- Work flexible hours
- On-call at times,
- Basic understanding of electrical, mechanical issues,
- Ability to lift at least 50 lbs., physically able to shovel, etc.
- Assist in maintenance projects when not operating plants.
Compensation and Benefits: Pay is commensurate with experience and market reflective.
