The City of Loganville is seeking a full time Storm Water System Utility Technician in the Public Utilities Department.

Major Duties:

  • Conducts preventative maintenance work on Storm drains and structures and ponds.
  • Conducts utility locates by marking with paint and flags locations of storm sewer lines.
  • Install piping, and tests installation according to specifications.
  • Clear Utility Easements to allow for access to storm sewer lines and manholes.
  • Inspect and cleans manholes of roots, blockages, and outside water infiltration.

Knowledge Required by the Position:

  • Knowledge of corrective maintenance procedures.
  • Knowledge of equipment, materials, and procedures in maintenance and operation activities.
  • Knowledge of safety procedures and other departmental policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of tools and machinery required to complete tasks, safety equipment..
  • Research maps to perform locates and mark direction, depth, and location of storm drain
  • lines.
  • Ability to utilize TV equipment to detect infiltration, and inspect condition of lines.
  • Ability to properly operate vehicles, tools and machinery associated with the Storm Water
  • dept.
  • Ability to detect flaws in the operation of collections system equipment.
  • Ability to follow established safety rules and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Ability to communicate and understand and follow oral and written instructions in English
  • Language.
  • Ability to respond seven days a week, 24 hours a day for system emergencies as needed.

Requirements: High school diploma or GED equivalent, Desire (1) year of related experience; possesses valid State of Georgia driver's license CDL (Class B) and a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) and Back Ground Check; and passing a Drug Screen test. Confined Space, First Aid and CPR within 24 months of hire any combination of education or experience is acceptable.
