POSITION	Senior Water and Wastewater Technician
DEPARTMENT	Public Works
DIRECT SUPERVISOR	Public Works Manager

JOB SUMMARY	This position is responsible for supervising and participating in the repair of water and sewer mains and lines. Cut asphalt to reach water and sewer lines, and repair utility cuts necessitated by water and sewer repairs. Perform preventive maintenance on equipment and lift stations.
QUALIFICATIONS (MINIMUM)	High School Diploma or GED. Valid Driver’s License with No Infractions in 2 Years. One Year of Backhoe Experience. Communicate Clearly and Concisely in Written and Oral Form. Standard Masonry Skills. Must Possess or Successfully Obtain Waste Water Collection or Water Distribution License Within One Calendar Year of Hire.
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES	Maintains and Repairs Town Buildings. Maintains and Repairs Streets and Roads. Repairs Water and Sewer Lines and Mains. Maintains and Repairs Lift Stations. Maintains Equipment in Working Order. Meter Reads, Installation, and Repairs.
PERSONAL CONTACTS	Contacts are with the Public Works Management, Co-Workers, Other Town Personnel, and Members of the General Public.
PURPOSE OF CONTACTS	Contacts are to Provide Services, Exchange Information, or Resolve Problems.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS	Work is Performed While Intermittently Sitting, Standing, Stooping, Bending, or Crouching. The Employee Frequently Lifts Light and Heavy Objects, and Uses Tools or Equipment Requiring a High Degree of Skill and Dexterity.
WORK ENVIRONMENT	Work is Performed in a Shop or Outdoors. The Employee may be Exposed to Noise, Dust, Dirt, Grease, Water, Wastewater, Machinery with Moving Parts, Inclement Weather, Varying Degrees of Heat and Cold Associated with the Climate. During Emergencies the Employee maybe Required to Report to Work as a Member of the Disaster Relief Team.
