Notice of Stakeholder Meeting regarding the Addition of
Operator Class IIIG to the
Rules for Safe Drinking Water, Chapter 391-3-5

The Georgia Environmental Protection Division (EPD) Watershed Protection Branch will hold a virtual stakeholder meeting to discuss adding the newly created Drinking Water Operator Class III G to the public water system classification. The meeting will be held on Thursday, November 2, 2023, at 10:00 am on the Zoom web conferencing platform. The login information for the meeting is listed below.

The new drinking water operator Class IIIG was created by Georgia Board of Examiners for Certification of Water & Wastewater Treatment Plant Operators and Laboratory Analysts. EPD is proposing rule changes to include this new classification to Rule 391-3-5-.39 Public Water System Classification. An excerpt of the proposed requirement is attached below.

The purpose of this meeting is to inform and solicit input from the public and impacted organizations regarding these requirements. EPD will also listen to comments and address stakeholder questions during the meeting. At the stakeholder meeting, anyone may present data, make a statement, or offer comments either orally or in writing. Lengthy statements or statements of a considerable technical or economic nature, as well as previously recorded messages, should be submitted in writing.
