Water Treatment Plant Operator (Class III)

The City of Clarkesville is currently seeking two Water Plant Treatment Operators (Class III) – One for first shift and one for second shift.

General Nature of Work

This position is responsible for producing high quality, potable water by monitoring the treatment process in accordance with the EPA and EPD standards by running tests, maintaining chemical levels and chemical feeders, backwashing filters, adjusting plant flow when necessary, checking reservoir, turning on/off raw water supply when needed, monitoring tank levels, and maintaining water plant facility and grounds.

Class III Operator license is required and operator must be able to lift 50 pounds and have good computer, record keeping, and organizational skills.
