Position summary:
Assists in the operation of the Land Application System.
Tasks:
- Operates and assists LAS personnel with the operations of the following systems:
- process water, 2) wastewater, and 3) computer controlling systems.
- Assists LAS personnel with the operations of the potable water system.
- Operates and assists LAS personnel with collection and disposition of water and miscellaneous test samples, testing of water hardness and readings of pond levels.
- Assists in the mechanical repairs of pumps, valves, aerators, and other devices and components.
- Keeps bar screens clear of lint and debris on daily basis.
- Assigned to keep all fence lines in good repairs and clear of vegetation.
- Maintains all silt fences around and within spray fields where applicable.
- Plants trees, shrubbery, types of grass around property as needed.
- Safely uses any hand and powered tools for making repairs and other maintenance when needed.
- Checks propane bottle cage daily for empty bottles, fill as needed.
- Paints and cleans when needed.
- Performs housekeeping in shop, pump houses and grounds as needed.
- Operates and assists LAS personnel with all maintenance issues and preventative maintenance tasks.
- Operates and assists LAS personnel with all required record keeping, logs, etc.
- Perform other tasks assigned by management.
Skills & Physical Requirements:
- Active Listening - Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
- Speaking - Talking to others to convey information effectively.
- Reading Comprehension - Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents.
- Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
- Have competent math skills.
- Equipment Selection - Determining the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job.
- Repairing - Repairing machines or systems using the needed tools.
- Hold a valid GA driver’s license.
- Able to lift 50 lbs. sometimes on a continuous basis.
- Able to work in a hot, cold, moist, and dirty environment.
- Able to work safely and effectively with little or no supervision at times.
Education & Licensure Required:
- High School Diploma or GED
- GA Class III Wastewater License
Salary Range: Up to $21.45 per hour, based on experience and certification
