 Installs water meters. Makes water main taps. Flags traffic at work sites. Repairs leaks; plumbs lines as needed. Repairs water main breaks. Maintains water meters; installs meter boxes; checks water pressure at meters. Installs and maintains fire hydrants. Operates equipment, including, but not limited to: asphalt roller, cement mixer, gas powered saw, asphalt and cement cutter, renching/boring machine, backhoe, jackhammer, etc. Tests backflow prevention devices as certified; repairs or replaces apparatus. Repairs concrete driveways or sidewalks; repairs streets and curbs. Removes and replaces sod; plants bushes; cuts trees and roots as needed. Maintains reservoirs; removes debris from water’ cleans boat ramps; repairs docks. Maintains equipment; replaces fuses and light bulbs; checks oil and tires; changes buckets on backhoes. Cleans restrooms; empties trash; mops restroom and shop floors; unloads trucks. Maintains inventory of tools, parts, and equipment. Responds to after-hours emergencies. Inspects and flushes fire hydrants. Hand deliver Boil Water advisories and rescind notices. Collects bacteria samples for analysis. Assists with locating and marking water mains and service lines. Meets with customers regarding questions and complaints. Performs other related duties as assigned.
